Mahina Lagmay (Owner / Designer)
Born into a dog loving family, I was hooked from day one. Having multiple dogs around at all times was just the way it was and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
Aside from dogs, my other passion is fashion. My entire life, I was surrounded by well put together women (grandmothers, mom and aunties) along with a very talented and artistic father, whom all left a lasting impression on my personal style.
I followed my path to the University of Hawaii at Manoa where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Product Design and Merchandising. I learned the "ins and outs" of the fashion world through education, internships and good ol' retail.
Next I landed a job in wholesale sales with a successful Hawaii based company. I learned and grew a lot over 5 years of working there, when I decided to take a leap of faith by moving to Portland for new life experiences with my husband and two fur children.
Following my heart became top priority. After making the move from Hawaii to the Pacific Northwest and spending my free time volunteering at the Oregon Humane Society, it all clicked for me. I was going to combine my fashion passion with my undeniable love for doggos.
From there, WHOOZA GOODOG was born.
UPDATE:
As of November 2018, our boy Imi was tragically killed in Oregon. He was our world and 1/2 of the littermate duo that started it all. We have since moved back home to Hawaii for healing and are operating out of Honolulu.
Isaac Lagmay (Husband / Fellow Dog Enthusiast)
Although not technically employed by the company, he plays many important rolls (like working for free ;) ! He is always down for long dog walks, impromptu dog training and grooming. In all honesty, having a fellow supportive dog lover to spend your days with is pretty great for company moral.
